Building bridges between Israel and other nations
Ramat Negev International Training Center for Advanced Agriculture
Israel is recognized as an international leader in dealing with limited water resources, food security, and sustainable management of natural resources.
Goals of the Negev Foundation include promoting the international use of Israeli agricultural techniques and assisting in building bridges between Israel and other nations. One proven method of realizing both of these goals is through the Ramat Negev International Agricultural Training Program, a successful advanced agriculture education service operated by the Research and Development Department of the Ramat HaNegev Regional Council.
- The program provides a comprehensive education to aspiring agricultural professionals from East Asian countries and Brazil, with hopes to one day welcome students from other parts of the globe. The curriculum incorporates both practical and classroom training in an 11 month program.
-
- Applicants are required to be recent college graduates with distinguished academic records.
- Admission to the program is very competitive, with an average of 24 applicants for each available position.
- During theoretical courses, students are taught by a diverse faculty with experience in prestigious universities, extension services, and professional research and development.
- The program devotes five days of the workweek to hands-on training for which students receive a stipend.
- Participants are placed throughout Ramat HaNegev in accordance with the needs of local farms and the interests and abilities of individual students.
